About me

I know exactly what it feels like to sit in an IB Math class wondering if it will ever click. I was an IB student myself — and that experience never left me.

After the IB, I went on to study Mathematics and Philosophy at university in the UK, where my love for the subject only deepened. From there, I took an unexpected detour: I joined an investment banking firm and built a career as a financial analyst. I was good at it. In fact, I passed all three levels of the CFA — one of the most demanding finance qualifications in the world — in just a year and a half, something that genuinely surprised even the most seasoned people around me.

But sitting at that desk, I kept asking myself the same question: is this really what I'm here to do?

In 2018, I made a decision that raised a few eyebrows. I walked away from a lucrative career in finance to do what I actually love — teach mathematics. No regrets. Not one.
Since then, I have taught IB Mathematics full-time, working with students across the UK, Spain, Switzerland, Canada and the UAE. In 2022, I took my own education further, enrolling in a Master's degree in Mathematics at EMU in Cyprus — where I was awarded a scholarship and spent a full year teaching university-level mathematics in the department alongside my studies.

I bring all of that — the IB experience, the real-world application of mathematics, the academic rigour, and the genuine passion — into every single session I teach.
I don't just teach math. I help students understand it, feel confident in it, and perform in it when it matters most.

If you are struggling, stuck, or simply want to go from a 5 to a 7 — I'd love to help.

Beyond the Classroom

I believe the best educators are people who have truly lived — who have pushed boundaries, taken risks, and pursued excellence in more than one arena. Mathematics teaches us to think. But life teaches us everything else. I try to bring both into every session.

I know what it means to push human limits

I was a competitive freediver — and not just recreationally. I have set four national freediving records, descending into depths where most people would never dare to go. Freediving teaches you something that no textbook can: that the mind gives up long before the body does. That composure under pressure is a skill you can train. I bring that same mental discipline to every student I work with — especially in the weeks before IB exams, when panic is the biggest enemy of a good grade.

I have been recognized globally for breaking boundaries

In 2018, BBC 100 Women selected me as one of the most inspirational and influential women in the world. Not for one thing — but for daring to live across multiple worlds at once. That recognition reminded me that the most interesting people are rarely defined by a single achievement.

I pioneered underwater dance in Egypt

Somewhere between art, sport, and science, I created and produced underwater dance. I choreographed, filmed, and produced videos that merged movement with the ocean in ways never seen before in Egypt.

I understand the world your education leads to

Before teaching, I worked in investment banking and passed all three levels of the CFA — one of the most rigorous financial qualifications in the world — in just a year and a half. I understand how mathematics connects to economics, finance, data, and decision-making at the highest level. When students ask me "but when will I ever use this?" — I have real answers. Not textbook answers. Real ones.
